Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) is a trade agreement between 11 countries (Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, and Vietnam) covering over 510 million people and representing 12.8% of global GDP in 2020.

Together with the Department for International Trade we will be discussing this partnership and learning what opportunities could be available for businesses. We'd like to extend this invitation to your Chamber members, as the UK joining this Partnership is likely to benefit businesses in Wales and in Singapore.

Chaired by Katrina McWhinnie, Consultant Partner at Acuity Law, we will hear from Lukas May, the UK’s Deputy Chief Negotiator for CPTPP.

This event will identify potential areas where businesses stand to benefit including:

  • Visas
  • Tariffs
  • Rules of origin
  • Digital trade
  • Financial services
  • Customs
  • Increased benefits over bilateral agreements

There will also be the opportunity for attendees to submit their questions directly to Lukas.

The event will be taking place online via Zoom webinar - to register to attend, please click here.
