Our Strategic Priorities – Members, Trade & Advocacy

Our strategy is the product of time spent listening - to members, to partners, and to the shifts happening in Singapore and across the region. It reflects what we have heard from businesses about what is needed in today's business environment, and it sets out a clear direction for how we will deliver value over the next four years.

Everything we do stems from our member network. Growing and strengthening this is not just one priority among many. It is the foundation that makes every other ambition possible, from advocacy and trade promotion to thought leadership and bilateral engagement. The stronger our community, the more we can achieve for those who choose to be a part of it.

That is why we are focused on building depth in the sectors that matter most to the bilateral relationship between Singapore and the UK, and monitoring these peaks in interest as they develop. Our network is shaped to include the priority industries identified in the UK Industrial Strategy and the sectors driving Singapore's economic ambitions, alongside those reflected in the British community in-market such as retail, supply chain, maritime and F&B. The result is a community where engagement is rewarded with connections to the right peers, partners, and decision-makers to move your business forward.

We also know that a strong network is a responsive one. We listen continuously to our members through regular meetings and events, surveys, and focus groups, using what we hear to refine both what we offer, and how we deliver it.

Our market entry model brings together the people, knowledge, and connections that turn ambition into commercial reality, whether you are visiting Singapore for the first time, exploring an industry or regional trade mission for market scoping, or scaling into your next market. Alongside supporting British firms’ export and expansion plans, we help Singaporean firms to investigate the UK market, leveraging our extensive local business network, deep industry and government relationships, and the ecosystem of British Chambers of Commerce around the world.

We have played an active role in supporting and communicating the rollout of bilateral trade agreements between the UK and Singapore, advocating for business interests while helping companies understand and maximise the opportunities they create.

We have played a part in running pilots for the UK Government in facilitating digital shipment pilots between the UK, Singapore, and Thailand, demonstrating the feasibility of digital supply chains, which was referenced in the UK Trade Strategy 2025.

Through the Life Sciences Trade Accelerator 2026, we are helping British life sciences firms navigate market entry into Singapore, connecting them with the regulatory knowledge, partners, ecosystem and commercial pathways that turn early interest into viable business development.

Through continuous industry engagement, stakeholder dialogue and roadshows, we seek to identify the trade barriers our members face and the openings worth pursuing. This is how we go beyond being a Chamber of conversations to become a trusted delivery partner.

Being heard where it matters is one of the most valuable things a Chamber can offer its members. We work continuously to advocate for the business community with UK and Singapore Government stakeholders, helping shape policy decisions through the realities of doing business in the market.

The depth of engagement with both Governments is a result of the quality of engagements which the Chamber has built over many decades of supporting British interests, as well as a reflection of the significance of the bilateral trade and investment relationship. We maintain active dialogue with UK and Singapore Ministries and industry statutory boards, building on long-standing relationships and opening new ones as the policy landscape evolves. This provides our members with a credible route into the conversations that shape their operating environment.

We also recognise that business today is shaped as much by geopolitics as by economics. We monitor developments and provide expert briefings to keep our community informed, positioning the Chamber as a trusted source in moments when clarity counts.
