Benedict Chia
The National Climate Change Secretariat | Director (Strategic Issues)
Benedict is Director (Strategic Issues) from the National Climate Change Secretariat in the Prime Minister’s Office, Singapore. He is responsible for economic research, the development of low carbon technologies and futures work. Prior to that, he has served in the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, as well as the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources.
He graduated from Oxford University with a Masters of Arts in Economics & Management, and a Masters of Science in Development Economics.
Taimur Baig
DBS | Managing Director and Chief Economist Group Research
Taimur Baig, Ph.D, heads global economics as well as macro strategy for interest rate, credit, and currency at DBS Group Research. Prior to this, Dr. Baig was a Principal Economist at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and Managing Director and Chief Economist, Asia at Deutsche Bank Singapore. During 1999-2007, he was based in Washington, DC, at the headquarters of the International Monetary Fund, where his last position was Senior Economist.
Dr. Baig has published extensively for both specialists and a general audience, on areas including monetary policy, digital currency, financial technology, climate change, demographics, frontier markets, fiscal policy efficacy, and financial market contagion. He is the host of “Kopi Time,” a widely followed podcast series on markets and economies.
Mikkel Larsen
Climate Impact X | Chief Executive Officer
Mikkel Larsen is the Chief Executive Officer of Climate Impact X (CIX), a global exchange and marketplace for high-quality carbon credits. He is responsible for developing and executing CIX’s vision to scale the voluntary carbon market. Prior to his current role, Mikkel was the Group Chief Sustainability Officer at DBS. He has also held management positions at UBS, Citigroup and KPMG in Europe.
Mikkel is involved in numerous international and Singaporean sustainability related councils and committees including the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), Natural Climate Solutions Alliance (NCS Alliance), and World Wildlife Fund Advisory Council (Singapore). He is a frequent speaker on green finance and voluntary carbon markets and has authored publications in these fields.
Jeth Lee
Microsoft Singapore | Director of Legal and Government Affairs
Jeth Lee is Microsoft Singapore's Director of Legal and Government Affairs. As a member of its senior leadership team, he is responsible for navigating complex legislative and regulatory environments across a wide range of critical issues, spanning artificial intelligence, cloud, privacy, sustainability and cybersecurity.
Jeth is passionate about democratising new technologies and empowering how we interact in a trusted ecosystem. Prior to joining Microsoft, Jeth spent a decade in leadership and management roles at the Singapore Exchange (SGX), including as Head of Compliance and Lead Counsel. He carries extensive experience in the financial markets and specialises in cross-border regulatory reform.
He holds a master’s degree in corporate law from New York University, and is qualified as an advocate and solicitor in Singapore.
Chris Leeds
Standard Chartered Bank | Head, Carbon Markets Development
Chris is responsible for the development of Carbon Markets strategy and product development at Standard Chartered Bank. His experience in commodity markets spans over 25 years in origination, sales and trading and he was previously Global Head of Environmental Markets Sales with Barclays. A founder member of the Carbon Markets and Investors Association (CMIA), he was also Chairman of the Power Trading Forum, a division of the Futures and Options Association (FOA).
Chris is a board member of the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Markets (IC-VCM) and serves as a member of the Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition's (CPLC) Advisory Group.
Helge Muenkel
DBS | Group Chief Sustainability Officer
Helge joined DBS in January 2022 as the new Group Chief Sustainability Officer, from ING, where he worked for 10 years and was most recently Head of Asia Pacific, Sustainable Finance and Global Capital Markets. He successfully grew the bank's regional business of sustainability-related advisory services and sustainable finance transactions across products. Prior to ING, he spent more than 12 years in various roles at Deutsche Bank AG and UniCredit Group being based in different cities across Europe, the US and Asia Pacific.
Helge chairs the DBS Sustainability Council and represents DBS in several global and regional working groups such as the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, the Industry Advisory Panel of the ASEAN’s Joint Sustainable Finance Working Group and the MAS-convened Green Finance Industry Taskforce.
