Celebrating Diversity Photo Competition: Terms & Conditions

This information relates to the 6th edition of the annual photo competition organised by the Chamber's Diversity & Inclusion committee hosted at www.britcham.org.sg/celebrating-diversity.


ENTRIES

  1. Entries close 11.59pm on 26th August 2022.
  2. All entries must be submitted via the competition webpage.
  3. A maximum of three (3) photos may be submitted per entrant.
  4. Entrants must provide their real name and contact information or may be disqualified.
  5. All participants must agree with the rules, terms and conditions set out herewith.

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  1. Competition is only open to those residing in Singapore.
  2. Participants must be at least 13 years of age at the start of the competition.
  3. Participants between 13 and 16 years of age must seek parental consent before entering the competition and provide contact details of a parent or guardian in the case that they are chosen as a finalist.
  4. There is no fee required to enter the competition.
  5. Any costs related to the entry must be borne by the participant.
  6. The British Chamber of Commerce will assume (and by entering the competition the participant represents and warrants) that either he/she has legal capacity to enter into the agreement set out in this page (i.e. that he/she is of sufficient age and mental capacity), or where the participant is between 13 and 16 years of age that he/she has obtained his/her parental/guardian's consent.
  7. Entries which include the following will not be accepted/permitted: film, animation, subject matter that depicts profanity, obscenity, nudity, mention of politics, discrimination of any kind, subject matter not in accordance with the competition rules and/or these terms and conditions.
  8. All images must be the work of the individual submitting them.

 

VOTING

  1. Voting must be done via the competition webpage before 11.59pm on 2nd September 2022.
  2.  Voters must be at least 13 years of age at the start of the competition.
  3. One vote per person per photo.
  4. Voters can vote for more than one photo.
  5. Votes received after 2nd September 2022 will not count towards the Most Popular Photo prize.

 

FINALISTS

  1. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners will be shortlisted from the competition entries by a panel of judges and will be notified in the weeks following the competition end by the British Chamber of Commerce team.
  2. The photo which receives the highest number of votes will be included as the 4th winner - the Most Popular Photo prize.
  3. All finalist photos will be showcased at a British Chamber event to which all finalists and those interested in diversity and inclusion will be invited.
  4. The number and type of the winners' categories can be modified and changed at the discretion of the judging panel at any time.

 

PRIZES

  1. 1st prize: SG$500
  2. 2nd prize: SG$300
  3. 3rd prize: SG$200
  4. Most Popular Photo prize (as per votes): SG$300
  5. All prizes will be awarded by the Chamber and the Official Prize Partner at a future date notified by the Chamber team.

 

TIMELINES

  1. Efforts will be made to adhere to the defined timelines. However, the timelines are subject to change. Any changes will be communicated by the British Chamber of Commerce on the competition webpage and/or the Chamber's communication channels including social media. Persons not accepting such changes should not proceed to participate in the competition. 
  2. The British Chamber of Commerce shall not be held accountable or liable for any disruptions, stoppages, interruptions or cancellation of the competition or any part of its processes or voting on account of any factors beyond its control.

 

GENERAL

  1. The rules and terms and conditions set forth in this page can and may be changed by the British Chamber of Commerce without prior notice, however, all reasonable steps will be taken to keep the public informed of changes if any.
  2. By accessing the competition webpage, the participants and public agree to accept all rules and regulations stated herein.
  3. The British Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to:
    1. Cancel or suspend the competition or voting at any time without assigning any reasons.
    2. Disqualify entrants or votes if it has reasonable grounds to suspect that fraudulent behaviour has occurred.
  4. The British Chamber of Commerce shall not:
    1. Make representation and assurance as regards the different entries or votes and shall not be responsible for the same.
    2. By responsible for any computer/systems /other breakdowns/failures which might result in non-participation in the competition and voting.
  5. All rights, titles and interest including but not limited to copyright or other intellectual property rights in the photo material(s) and any/all entries received shall vest solely and exclusively with the British Chamber of Commerce at all times and the Chamber shall be entitled to use the photos, the entries received or any information received for promotional, marketing and/or publicity purposes without any further reference, payment or compensation to the participants.
  6. Participants represent and warrant that where photos depict identifiable individuals, the consent of such individuals for use in the photo and competition will have been obtained prior to submission to the competition.
  7. None of the provisions of these rules or terms and conditions shall be deemed to constitute a partnership or agency between the British Chamber of Commerce, the participants or the public, and neither the participants or the voters shall have any authority to bind the British Chamber of Commerce in any manner.
  8. The British Chamber of Commerce accepts no liability for any errors or omissions, whether on behalf of itself or third parties.
  9. In no event shall the British Chamber of Commerce be liable for loss or any incidental or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the competition, its services, or this agreement, including through negligence.
  10. The decision of the British Chamber of Commerce shall be final and binding in all regards and no communication shall be entertained in this regard.
  11. All rights, title and interest in the photos and any/all entries received shall vest solely and exclusively with the British Chamber of Commerce at all times. 
  12. All information is deemed to be voluntarily supplied during the course of entry for the competition. Personal information provided by the participants is deemed to be non-confidential. Any and all obligations of confidentiality are hereby discharged. 

 

GOVERNING LAW

  1. This competition and these rules, terms and conditions shall be governed in all respects by the laws of Singapore.
  2. Each participant or their parent/guardian is fully responsible for ensuring that his/her participation in the competition is lawful and in accordance with the laws of the country of which he/she is a citizen and/or resides, and/or happens to be at the time that the entry is made.
  3. The British Chamber of Commerce makes no representations, express or implied, as to the lawfulness of the competition or any participant's participation in the competition.
  4. Any provision in these terms and conditions that is prohibited or otherwise unenforceable in any jurisdiction, is ineffective as to that jurisdiction to the extent of the prohibition or unenforceability but does not invalidate the remaining provisions in these terms and conditions nor affect the validity or enforceability of that provision in any other jurisdiction.
