Simon is a Partner in the finance group of Watson Farley & Williams LLP, an international law firm. He specialises in the maritime sector, and his clients include a broad range of owners, operators, financiers and other industry participants. He has been with WFW since 2006 and located in Singapore since 2012. Before WFW, Simon was with Sinclair Roche & Temperley and then Stephenson Harwood, based in London and Piraeus. Simon is also a RYA yacht master and keen (if not very able) golfer.

Prior to relocating to Singapore and joining the chamber team as Membership Manager, Nicole worked across multiple sectors within Marketing, Events and Business Development. She recently completed an International MBA at Bournemouth University. Her core role is to support the membership network as well as manage enquiries from companies and individuals wishing to join the British Chamber of Commerce.

Nicole is British born but expat bred having grown up in Swaziland, Cóte D’Ivoire, Sudan, N. America, St. Lucia and Botswana, before returning to the UK for her undergraduate studies. She is a keen surfer and diver, and never happier than when surrounded by water.

Simon started his career in shipping sea in 1974 as a Navigating Officer Cadet. After several voyages as ship’s Master, in 1991 he came ashore, working variously as HSE, Country, Marketing and Project Manager worldwide, before taking up his present role as GM for Sustainable Development 6 years ago. He has a BSc(Hons) in Environmental Science from UEA in Norwich and has been with the Swire group for over 30 years. He has lived in Singapore for a total of 16 years and has a passion for promoting all areas of diversity, inclusion, equality and fairness.

David Kelly is the Director of Asia PAC for the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST), responsible for the growth and profile of the Institute within the Asia Pacific region. A Chartered Marketer, David joined the IMarEST in 2012, where he spearheaded the development and execution of a completely reinvigorated marketing strategy which has fortified the Institute and supported rapid growth over the past three years. David was a key driver behind a skills-gap roundtable held in London in 2013 and subsequent report: “Mitigating the Skills Gap in the Maritime and Offshore Oil and Gas Sector” which led to a redeveloped Skills Working Group under the UK’s Marine Industries Leadership Council (MILC). He has supported the delivery of a Career Level Framework aimed at supporting the professional development of marine professionals around the globe. David is also Chair of the UK’s Marine Industries Leadership Council (MILC) Image Working Group.

Ron Mathison is the Managing Director of Swire Pacific Offshore (SPO), a diversified marine conglomerate with a fleet of more than 80 vessels and a sound reputation as a trusted service provider in the offshore Oil & Gas industry.

Prior to joining SPO in 2015, Ron was the Group Managing Director of James Finlay Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of John Swire & Sons Ltd. Ron first joined Swire in 1984 and spent 24 years with Cathay Pacific Airways where he was previously Director Cargo. Prior to that, he was Director and General Manager of the award winning Asia Miles loyalty programme. During his time at Cathay Pacific, Ron held several senior positions covering marketing, sales and revenue management in various countries.

Nick is Royal Dutch Shell’ s Shipping & Maritime head for the region, based in Singapore, and also Director of Shell Tankers (Singapore) Private Limited and Shell International Shipping Services (Pte) Ltd. Nick has held a number of shipping management roles globally for Shell and formerly headed up BG Group’s Maritime organization.

Nick holds a Masters of Engineering degree, is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, a Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology and a Chartered Engineer and Chairman of the Lloyds Register Asia Shipowners Committee. Nick is a keen sailor and cyclist.

Oliver is a Director within PwC's Capital Projects and Infrastructure Team. He focusses on the construction and operations of transport infrastructure and services and has worked throughout Europe and Asia on large transport sector transactions and procurements. Within Singapore, he has advised both the Land Transport Authority and rail operators on the expansion of the rail network and also supported the British company, Go-Ahead, on their entry into the Singapore passenger transport market.

Alastair Jones is the Area Business Development Manager – Offshore, South Asia for Lloyd’s Register (LR). He is responsible for all of LR’s Business Development, Pre-Sales, Sales and Marketing activities in South Asia for the offshore sector. He has 34 years’ experience in the Offshore and Marine Industries and 25 years’ experience in Asia. From 1984 – 88 he worked for British Shipbuilders at Govan, Port Glasgow, Sunderland and Newcastle Upon Tyne in a variety of roles in design and production. In 1987 he received a B Eng (Honours) in Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering from Glasgow University. In 1988 he returned to Glasgow University as a Research Assistant working on Time Domain motion simulations on SWATH type ships. In 1990 he joined Lloyd’s Register Offshore Division in London and was transferred to Singapore in 1993. He was Project Manager and Lead Surveyor on 16 major Oil & Gas Development Projects including fixed process facilities, FPSO’s /FSO’s and Drilling Modules. In 2004 he was promoted to Principal Surveyor and moved to a Business Development role. He is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects and a member of the RINA/IMAREST Joint Branch in Singapore.
