#FridayFive from the Executive Director: 4 July 2025
Here’s my #FridayFive for another brilliant week at the British Chamber of Commerce Singapore (BritCham). This weeks theme is clucking brilliant… keep reading…
1. Farewell Carrier Strike Group: With thanks to the awesome Royal Navy and UK in Singapore for such a brilliant week of events, connections and British brilliance in our home in Singapore. As Nikesh Mehta has said in his monthly roundup, here’s a picture of how I feel like I’m writing this #FridayFive!! (Can’t beat a Merlin Helicopter!!).
2. Rugby Dinner: what an absolute pleasure to host our Rugby Charity dinner in support of the Matt Hampson Foundation. I cannot thank the awesome Dan Hipkiss for helping to bring this alive, the legendary Geordan Murphy, and the extraordinary Henry Dunn for sharing his story (which i can't stop thinking about). The British Chamber looks forward to building on this for next year. Thank you to all of our members and friends across the network that supported such a brilliant fun and impactful event last night. Singapore Cricket Club, Little Farms, Shaun McEwan.
3. Innovation: it was great to meet the team from PwC Singapore to discuss #AI collaboration. Tech is a key part of the Chamber network. Get in touch if you’re interested.
4. E... S and G – our sustainability dialogue (9th September) programme is shaping up amazingly well. Thanks to the steering committee for a brilliant meeting this week. The programme is looking world-class… watch this space, if you’re not attending, you will definitely be missing out!!
5. Duality: What an absolute pleasure to meet with the People's Association team as we talked about community engagement, collaboration, and the amazing strength of the Singapore/UK network. So much more to come. It was also brilliant to attend the Ministry of Manpower event on building Singapore’s talent strategy. Thank you so much to the MOMers for all your support and engagement (and I’m looking forward to Tan See Lengs song next year!!)
And for those of you wondering about the link above… we ease into International Fried Chicken Day tomorrow (who knew…), have a great weekend and see you soon!
