#FridayFive from the Executive Director: 29 May 2026

A short week, but a good one! Here’s my #FridayFive across the British Chamber of Commerce Singapore (BritCham):

1.  Listening: fantastic to see members of the Chamber at our monthly Breakfast with BritCham. I’m always delighted to host sessions like this, for feedback, and sharing whats in and at the front of our brains within the network. Thank you to those who joined, and to those who popped into the Chamber office this week.

2.  Introductions: Also, I’m privileged to meet amazing businesses, and it was a pleasure to meet Peter Dewhurst, and Wiria L.. Its incredible what goes into making the world go around, and Dewhurst are another example of a company in a niche, that keep people moving! Hope to welcome you to the Chamber network soon and safe onward travels.

3.  Networks: we cherish our relationships with Singapore, and our relationship with Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) is particularly special. Thank you to Madeleine Lim who is handing over the relationship reins. Madeleine, I know you’re not leaving us just yet, but thank you for all of your support, engagement, opportunities and kind heart – you are one in a million. Wonderful to catch up with Janet Coyle CBE , MD of London & Partners as we talked about future plans for growth of amazing London and UK tech businesses. Look forward to seeing you in the UK in a few weeks, Janet.

4.  Knowledge: We got to meet our Healthcare and Life Sciences trade accelerator businesses this week. Louise Beazor and I hosted an online session as a first step to support amazing UK companies. This trade accelerator, supported by NatWest Group is different, as we warm up connections and networks ahead of a visit in September. Thank you also to the KPMG Singapore team for the invite to attend the launch of the AI Centre of Excellent  – huge industry involvement, and looking forward to seeing how things develop, as AI comes into nearly every conversation and committee at the Chamber. Particular thanks to VC John and Sze Yeng Lee.

5.  Shangri-La: ahead of the dialogue this weekend, it was a pleasure to join HMTC Martin Kent and H.E Nikesh Mehta at Eden hall this morning for their Horizons event. The fireside chat was chaired well by Francesca Clough, who hosted General Sir Rob Magowan KCB CBE ADC RM, Commander Cyber & Specialist Operations Command.

With Hari Raya in the middle of this week, that just about covers all of the connections that we’ve Navi-gated across the Chamber. See you next week!
