Head of School, English (Native Speaker)

Instructional Process & Classroom Management
 

• Responsible for the strategic and operational management of the school of English.
• Lead and direct the team – student matters, student learning, co-curriculum activities and exam preparation.
• Oversee lecturers’ performance and students passing / satisfaction rate.
• Able to teach as and when required.
• Review teaching methods and provide coaching/mentoring to the lecturers.
• Partnership with overseas university partners on academic and student-related matters
• Demonstrates a strong grasp of subject matter and communicates effectively.
• Plans and implements an instructional programme that adheres to the goals and objectives.
• Employs a variety of appropriate teaching strategies and ensures such practices are carried out by the department.
• Evaluates accomplishments of students regularly using multiple assessment modes.
• Makes appropriate adjustments in the instructional programme to meet the needs of the students.
   

Curriculum Development
 

• Keeps current in subject matter knowledge and learning theory and is willing to share this knowledge for continual improvement of the school’s curriculum.
• Introduces and guides the department through innovative instructional methods.
• Leads the department in the ongoing curriculum revision process.
• Ensures that lecturers are well equipped pedagogically to carry out their instructional duties.
• Plans and manages finances necessary for the department to execute its duties.

Lecture Requirement: 50%

Requirements

• A good honours degree/masters or professional qualification in the chosen discipline.
• A strong commitment and passion for the English education.
• A broad and thorough knowledge of the teaching subject(s).
• Min. 5 years of experience in Educational Sector in the same capacity.
• Experienced in teaching “A” level English and above.
• Strong leadership, excellent business acumen, analytical mindset and strategic thinking.
• Have the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
