WATCH ON DEMAND: Updates on the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA)

The enhanced PDPA came into operation in February 2021, which expands the ability of organisations to use personal data while also increasing accountability for data breaches.

Notably, it introduces a mandatory breach notification framework, expanded exceptions and deemed notification framework allowing personal data to be used without consent.

Further changes in relation to the introduction of a data portability regime are also expected to be operative in the near future. Learn how to benefit from the enhanced PDPA in terms of the broadened permitted use of personal data. Be aware of the pitfalls and new requirements such as the data breach notification obligation.
