The Port of Singapore has been named the “Best Global Seaport” and “Best Seaport in Asia” at the Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain Awards in Hong Kong on Sept 3.

It was the fourth time the Republic has clinched the global seaport award, and 37th time that it has been awarded the best Asian seaport gong, said the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) in a release on the same day.

“These awards reflect the collective efforts of our industry stakeholders, international partners, research community, and unions,” said MPA chief executive Ang Wee Keong.

“We remain committed to developing Singapore as a global hub port and an international maritime centre. Singapore will continue to strive to be a preferred port of call.”

Organised annually by freight and logistics publication “Asia Cargo News”, the awards recognise leading logistics and supply chain service providers for service excellence, innovation, and reliability.

Winners are determined from over 15,000 readers of the publication, who nominate and vote for companies across the sectors.
