15th Annual Business Awards Finalists

Finalists of the 15th Annual Business Awards were announced recently. Winners from eight different categories will be announced on 01 October 2014.

Strong showing of local businesses in this year’s Annual Business Awards

Singapore, 3 September 2014 – Homegrown names; City Developments Limited, Tanglin Trust and Ceylon House Group, were among the finalists of the British Chamber of Commerce’s prestigious 15th Annual Business Awards recently announced. The Awards will culminate at the Annual Business Awards Gala Dinner on 1 October 2014 with Paul Polman, CEO of Unilever being the keynote speaker. 
The Annual Business Awards which have become a feature in the Singapore business calendar saw a strong showing of local entries, with almost half of the submissions coming from local organisations. This year the Awards had an overwhelming number of submissions for all eight categories. In all, the Annual Business Awards Committee shortlisted 18 organisations and six individuals, ten of which are nominations from local firms.
“Local businesses, together with global multi-national companies, continue to contribute to the dynamism, diversification and resilience of the Singapore economy. With each year, the competition intensifies and this year is no exception. We wish all the finalists the best of luck and look forward to the results of this year's Business Awards,” said Rudi Geerdink, Chairman of the 15th Annual Business Awards Committee.
Established in 1999, the Awards was organised in order to recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements across the various business sectors. It has since grown in stature to become one of Singapore’s most prestigious accolades garnering the continued support of the Economic Development Board (EDB), Singapore Business Federation (SBF) as well as the UKTI, British High Commission and EuroCham.

The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) is the British Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Business Awards’ title sponsor and has been in for the past consecutive nine years. Category sponsors include Grayling Asia, Portfolio Builders, The British Council, Cognita, Barclays and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
