ASEAN in Focus: Indonesia

The Indonesian presidential election campaigns are well underway, with all eyes on the
contest between President Joko Widodo and former general Prabowo Subianto. Some
187.1 million Indonesians will go to the polls in April 2019. Underneath the political statements and media noise around the upcoming elections in Indonesia is a country of opportunity for organisations looking to expand further into ASEAN. Join us on 14th November as we will look in detail at the political environment in Indonesia and the potential rewards of investment in growing industries such as real estate, renewable energy and technology.

Achmad Sukarsono, Senior Analyst of Control Risks will give an overview of the political environment in Indonesia, the current state of campaigning, and each presidential candidate’s strategy thus far. He will also discuss the various possible outcomes of the election – from the most likely scenario to the outliers – and how each of the outcomes may impact businesses and the investing community.

Ryan Chew, Chief Representative at Buenoz Investment Consulting, will take a closer look at its socio-economic trends and uncover where the opportunities, in different industries including real estate, renewable energy and Tech start-ups, might lie.
