Tim Rockell
Tim Rockell relocated to Singapore to launch the KPMG Global Energy Institute for Asia Pacific in November 2012. He has extensive experience of emerging markets. He was based with KPMG in the Middle East from 2005-2012 where he focused on Energy clients, particularly in Saudi Arabia. Previously he was based in KPMG’s London office as the Global Energy & Natural Resources Sector, Executive Director.

Bree has lived in Asia for over 15 years and is a specialist projects and construction lawyer and partner of international law firm Reed Smith. She advises on renewable and conventional power, energy efficiency, oil and gas, transport and water and waste, and commercial development projects worldwide. She is recognised as a thought leader in clean energy and leads a work stream for a global solar energy standardisation initiative launched by IRENA and a Paris based NGO. Bree was recently shortlisted by Euromoney Asia Women in Business Legal Awards 2017 as Best in Energy and Natural Resources.

Having moved to Singapore a year ago Zoë oversees all of the 70 plus events that BritCham delivers each year. She focuses on delivering the larger Flagship events, which includes the Annual Business Awards and Christmas Ball.

Before living in Singapore, Zoë had successfully delivered a range of cultural events in London and the UK, including having worked for the Royal Albert Hall and The Barbican.

Melanie is a specialist international oil and gas lawyer having worked for Shell as a Senior Counsel in its Downstream Australian and Singaporean offices and in London as a legal adviser to Shell’s Risk and Insurance department. Melanie subsequently worked for Chevron in London for over eight years in its Downstream and Upstream offices. She has extensive merger and acquisition experience having worked on major projects in the Ukraine, Norway, the Netherlands and as an operational lawyer extensively throughout Europe. Most recently Melanie joined BP here in Singapore where she supports the Eastern Hemisphere integrated supply and trading business.

Peter is the Managing Director of the UK Energy Institute (EI) here in Singapore. The EI is the UK’s professional body responsible for developing and sharing knowledge, skills and good practice towards achieving a safe, secure and sustainable future for the energy sector as a whole. Peter is well known in the energy industry having spent most of his career working within the international Oil and Gas industry most recently as an independent consultant through his own company Merlenergy Pte Ltd. He has held a number of senior executive posts in companies such as BP, Arrow Energy and Standard Chartered Bank as well as having built up an international reputation as a strategy and business development consultant to many of the world’s leading national and international energy development companies as well as a number of governments and regulatory agencies. Peter is also actively involved in the performing arts as Chairman of the Teng Ensemble, a highly talented and innovative group of Singaporean Chinese classical instrumentalists and as a member of the board and Treasurer of Wild Rice, one of Singapore’s leading theatre companies.

He has over 25 years of strategic executive leadership experience in emerging markets and has successfully led and acquired infrastructure, energy and environmental companies throughout Asia.

His key focus has been on the development and implementation of growth strategies, the creation of new assets and the financing and execution of energy and infrastructure projects. The format of these projects varied widely and included PPP’s and BOOT structures in the water, waste water, solid waste management, waste-to-energy, power, and renewable energy sectors.

Before the merger of DNV and Germanischer Lloyd in September 2013 Mathias was the Regional Manager of GL Garrad Hassan Asia Pacific. His position involves managing a team of over 150 Inspectors and Engineers specializing in Energy located in offices in Singapore, China, Thailand, India, Australia, Korea and Japan. Based in Singapore, Mathias has 13 years of experience in the renewable energy industry. During this time he has performed a wide range of tasks as an expert in charge of structural components of wind turbines including reviews, inspections, expert opinions, failure analysis, technical due diligence, guideline development and technical seminars.

Nick Dingemans is a Partner with international law firm Watson Farley & Williams. He is part of the firm’s Energy & Infrastructure group and is based in Singapore. He has over 20 years’ experience advising major energy companies, national oil companies, utility companies, international development banks, PE funds and others on corporate M&A and commercial matters. Nick has particular experience advising on cross-border and emerging market transactions in the energy and infrastructure sectors with a main focus on renewable energy and oil and gas transactions. His work includes acquisitions, disposals, corporate restructurings and joint ventures in Asia, Europe, Russia and the CIS, Africa, the Americas, the Middle East and Australasia. Nick has also advised clients on a wide range of M&A transactions in other sectors including mining, technology, financial institutions and commodities. He has lived and worked in Auckland, Dubai, London, Moscow and has been based in Singapore since 2014.
