Welcome to www.britcham.org.sg which we hope you find useful, informative and relevant.
Our membership continues to grow, (1,250+ members as of June 2010) and we have seen a sizeable increase in our overall network, reflecting the number of individuals joining within the umbrella of our Sterling membership category, or simply joining as individuals. While our Corporate membership has held steady through the financial turmoil witnessed over the past two years. Membership is open not only to all British companies in Singapore but also to all those with an interest or association with British business. We seek to be inclusive and welcome all with interests in British business, in whatever sphere that might be. |

Within the Chamber we continually endeavour to raise the bar when it comes to the value we bring our members. We have an active and engaged Board and currently have teams running five committees which guide our initiatives in the areas of Membership, Events, External Relations, CSR and Marketing Communications. We have a growing number of active Business Groups which reflect the segmentation allocated to membership and these are Energy & Utilities, Financial Services, IT and Communications Technology, Media & Marketing, Professional Services, Shipping, Transportation & Logistics, Entrepreneur & Small Business and the new BritCham Young Professionals Committee. Finance & Professional Services is the group with which a majority of our members are associated and it is currently being reshaped to reflect further membership segmentation and needs. We welcome members to engage with these groups, with their regular events and other initiatives.
Of interest to many members are our increasingly closer ties with our neighbouring British Chambers in South East Asia. An initiative is well underway to leverage and streamline some of the connections we share and services we provide. We are building this offering to enable members to take advantage of the services available in neighbouring countries of Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam and Cambodia – an initiative which is benefitting greatly from support provided by UKTI.
Our strong and enduring partnership with the High Commission in Singapore is immensely valuable to the Chamber and going forward I hope it will continue to grow in scope and activity, as indeed I hope to see our Chamber grow in coming years.
I encourage you to take full advantage of your membership. Our business community is growing and we intend to drive the growth of a modern Chamber with a broad value proposition to members, which is increasingly relevant within a thriving Singapore.
