Event Details

As the UK's fiscal deficit continues to grow, and tax rates continue to rise, the UK Government is launching ever more aggressive assaults on personal wealth, particularly against those with overseas connections. In recent years we have seen:
- Action to force offshore banks to disclose UK resident depositors
- Increasing international coordinated action against low tax jurisdictions, including Singapore
- Increased court action against UK nationals who claim to be non UK resident
- More aggressive targeting of specific groups of taxpayer, such as non-doms, footballers, and even dentists!

This talk will examine the above issues, and look at what it means for UK expatriates and how they structure personal wealth in a changing environment

What you will learn:
The presentation will give an update on the UK Government’s increased activity against tax avoidance and evasion, with particular focus on those who have left the UK. It will benefit anyone who currently has close connections with the UK, or who plans to return to the UK in the future, having accumulated savings and investments during their time overseas.
