Evening Presentation

Brought to you by the Sustainability and Responsibility Committee

Extraordinary Leadership for an Increasingly Complex & Socially Conscious World

How can clarity around personal and organisational purpose drive progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals, all while achieving business success?

In 2015, the UN spearheaded the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), setting out 17 goals to be achieved by 2030. The SDGs were agreed by the 193 member states, and they articulate challenges and prevalent needs of our time.

While remarkable progress has been made since the Millennium Development Goals were set in 2000, it can only be sustained through extraordinary leadership – both by individuals and businesses. This means harnessing key qualities in our leader and demands not only thought but also action.

To be truly effective, a leader’s thinking must be equal or superior to the complexity of the environment.

Purpose-led leadership is the most effective of all, and it is identifiable by the following facts:

• The leader’s purpose goes well beyond their self-interest
• The leader is excellent at enrolling others – It is always a team effort
• The leader takes a stand without hesitation – Courage is crucial

Join us for a presentation and open dialogue with Simon (Mac) McKenzie, Managing Director BRIDGE Asia-Pacific. He will be speaking on how to identify your purpose and use it boldly in business and personal spheres of influence. Among other tools, you will learn to determine your core cognitive thinking patterns, and how to increase your capacity for handling complexity.
