This session will focus on how digital transformation is delivering on the promise of more affordable, accessible, and agile health systems. It will feature thought-leadership from two global experts on this area and showcase real-world examples to demonstrate how technology innovation is improving the engagement and care of patients, empowering healthcare professionals, optimizing clinical and operational effectiveness and transforming the healthcare industry.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

 
 
Dr. Simon Kos joined Microsoft in 2010. He brings insight and experience from over 17 years working in the healthcare and Health IT industries. As the doctor on Microsoft's Worldwide Health team, he is responsible for clinical strategy and industry engagement. 
 
Prior to coming to Microsoft, Dr. Kos worked with global health IT companies Cerner and InterSystems as they implemented some of the largest e-Health initiatives in the Asia-Pacific region. His responsibilities included product design and localisation, clinical engagement, industry thought leadership and team management. Before his career in health IT Dr. Kos practiced as a doctor at NSW Health, Australia for several years with a focus on critical care.
 
Dr. Kos has an MBBS and BSc(Med) from UNSW, and an MBA with a major in change management from AGSM. He is passionate about improving healthcare through technology.
 
 
 

Dr Adam Hill is Chief Medical Officer for McLaren Applied Technologies, McLaren Group’s advanced technology, innovation and design company. In this role Adam is responsible for directing and defining the Health business, and creating intelligent products and processes to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequality spanning from digital therapeutics to human performance.  

A dual-qualified Clinician and Mechanical Engineer, Adam graduated from Imperial College London, the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and the Royal College of Surgeons of England. In recent the recent past, he has successfully founded an applied health research centre, strategically advised global life science companies for the UK government and lead a multinational, publicly-listed Health IT brand. In addition, Adam has contributed to over 100 publications, 12 academic awards and patents, and is a Visiting Professor in the Institute of Global Health Innovation at Imperial College London.

 

 
Dr. Steven Tucker is the founder of Tucker Medical Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based multi-specialty practice that provides both general primary care and sub-specialty medicine.  Founded in 2011, Tucker Medical offers integrated care in Medical Oncology, Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Family Medicine, Nutrition, and Mental Health services in Singapore and to patients across South East Asia.

A leader in precision medicine and patient engagement, Dr. Tucker is also Strategic Advisor for Oncology & Genomics at MetLife Asia and was the first Global Health Advisor at Singtel.  He founded Flip Health, a population heath management service applying data science and novel engagement strategies to reduce the risk of chronic disease. Dr. Tucker trained in Internal Medicine, Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation at the UCLA Center for Health Sciences.

 

 

ABOUT THE MODERATOR

 

 
Shefali leads WE Communcations’ health sector in Asia Pacific. She brings over 15 years of experience in healthcare communications.
 
With a Master’s degree in journalism from the Annenberg Centre for Communication at the University of Southern California, Shefali also brings a decade’s worth of experience both in print and broadcast journalism. Her work has been published in The Straits Times in Singapore, The Economic Times and The Asian Age in India and in Online Journalism Review in the United States. 
 
An experienced public speaker, she also coaches C-level executives to help them maximise speaking opportunities with their stakeholders.
