New Energy Realities - Changing Strategy and Operating Models

The 9th Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW) held at the end of October 2016 by the Energy Market Authority (EMA) attracted more than 13,000 energy executives to discuss a range of topics under the heading of ‘New Energy Realities’.

At this seminar, we looked at how companies are changing their operating models to adapt to a new energy world – a carbon constrained world with lower commodity prices.

We looked at how companies can make the most of this new reality, including:

  • Adopting alternative operating models for price efficiencies in a lower commodity price environment
  • Integrating fossil fuel systems with renewables and dealing with smaller scale local stakeholders
  • The impact from COP 21/22
  • What skillsets will be required to compete for the future energy role
  • What do we need to do now as individuals and organizations - (branding, attraction and retention strategies
