Damian Adams has been based in Singapore since 2000 and is a corporate partner of world-class international law firm Simmons & Simmons. He specialises in advising companies and funds on cross-border investments, M&A, joint ventures and commercial transactions, with particular experience in the mining, oil & gas, shipping and offshore energy sectors. He also advises in relation to the sale and trading of commodities. Damian has been involved with BritCham during much of his time in Singapore, having variously coordinated the young professionals group within BritCham (then known as BritPack), served on the Board and, since 2012, as a member of the Executive Committee, serving first as Secretary of the Chamber and more recently as one of its Vice Presidents. Damian also chairs the membership committee.

Cecilia Handel

Cecilia Handel is Director of Development at Tanglin Trust School Singapore and is responsible for inward investment at the school. She is both a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds Qualified Teacher Status. After a brief teaching career in London, she trained as a chartered accountant at KPMG London. Cecilia moved to the audit practice of KPMG Auckland, New Zealand in 2006. She worked in PwC’s advisory business for four years on arrival in Singapore and moved to Tanglin Trust School in 2010.

Tim Rockell relocated to Singapore to launch the KPMG Global Energy Institute for Asia Pacific in November 2012. He has extensive experience of emerging markets. He was based with KPMG in the Middle East from 2005-2012 where he focused on Energy clients, particularly in Saudi Arabia. Previously he was based in KPMG’s London office as the Global Energy & Natural Resources Sector, Executive Director.

Lucy Haydon

Lucy’s responsibility is to focus on ensuring the expansion of the Chamber’s membership, in addition overseeing all of the Chamber’s marketing and communications channels including the website and ORIENT magazine. Currently Lucy is responsible for daily operations at the Chamber in an Interim Executive Director capacity. Prior to joining the Chamber Lucy spent 12 years working for CIBT, a multinational company servicing the travel industry with visa information and processing support. During this time she held various senior executive positions and relocated to Singapore from the UK 4 years ago to champion the company’s expansion into the Asia region.

Miles Gooseman

Miles has been living in Singapore since 2009 working for Royal Skandia, one of the world’s largest Insurance companies. Prior to Singapore, he worked for Hartford life in the UK for 5 years. He recently joined the Fry Group as a Financial Planning consultant in June 2011. He also holds appropriate licenses and qualifications under the Financial Advisers Act in Singapore. In 2001 he graduated with a 1st Class Hons in Marketing. Involvement with the British Chamber of Commerce began within the first week in Singapore, leading to appointment as Chairperson of the Young Professionals group. The group has grown & developed under Miles' leadership already delivering the impressive "Mentor Series", with strong plans for the group going forward with an excellent committee making all this achievable. Miles roots are firmly based in Lincolnshire & staying true to them, he still supports Grimsby Town football club attending the occasional home match when back in the UK. Other interests include primarily playing squash but also tennis & spending time running around on East Coast Park with his two Springer spaniels Alfie and Purdey.

Nick has lived in Singapore for 3 years where he is the Founding Headmaster of Dulwich College (Singapore). Prior to that he was the Founding Head of Dulwich College, Suzhou in the P.R.C. and the Headmaster of Braeburn School in Nairobi, Kenya. In his 14 years as an International school leader Nick has served on the Executive Committee of the Federation of British International schools in Asia(FOBISIA) and was Chair of the British Curriculum Schools in Kenya (BCSK). Nick is married to Sonia, also a teacher and they have 2 children.
