The Energy & Utilities (E&U) business group's mission is to be recognised as a forceful and relevant forum in Singapore for members of the Chamber with particular interest in E&U to interact with the wider energy and utilities community.

Tim Rockell
Tim Rockell relocated to Singapore to launch the KPMG Global Energy Institute for Asia Pacific in November 2012. He has extensive experience of emerging markets. He was based with KPMG in the Middle East from 2005-2012 where he focused on Energy clients, particularly in Saudi Arabia. Previously he was based in KPMG’s London office as the Global Energy & Natural Resources Sector, Executive Director.
Bree Miechel
Reed Smith
Bree has lived in Asia for over 15 years and is a specialist projects and construction lawyer and partner of international law firm Reed Smith. She advises on renewable and conventional power, energy efficiency, oil and gas, transport and water and waste, and commercial development projects worldwide. She is recognised as a thought leader in clean energy and leads a work stream for a global solar energy standardisation initiative launched by IRENA and a Paris based NGO. Bree was recently shortlisted by Euromoney Asia Women in Business Legal Awards 2017 as Best in Energy and Natural Resources.

Standard Chartered Bank
Ben was a Director in Standard Chartered Bank’s Project Finance team with a focus on the upstream oil and gas industry. Recent engagements include debt arranging roles for major LNG and oilfield developments in the Asia Pacific region, as well as a number of advisory engagements related to financing of oil & gas developments. Prior to joining Standard Chartered Bank in 2006, Ben was a senior analyst for Deloitte Petroleum Services covering the upstream sector in South East Asia. Ben is a member of SEAPEX and AIPN

Peter Godfrey
The Energy Institute
Peter is the Managing Director of the UK Energy Institute (EI) here in Singapore. The EI is the UK’s professional body responsible for developing and sharing knowledge, skills and good practice towards achieving a safe, secure and sustainable future for the energy sector as a whole. Peter is well known in the energy industry having spent most of his career working within the international Oil and Gas industry most recently as an independent consultant through his own company Merlenergy Pte Ltd. He has held a number of senior executive posts in companies such as BP, Arrow Energy and Standard Chartered Bank as well as having built up an international reputation as a strategy and business development consultant to many of the world’s leading national and international energy development companies as well as a number of governments and regulatory agencies. Peter is also actively involved in the performing arts as Chairman of the Teng Ensemble, a highly talented and innovative group of Singaporean Chinese classical instrumentalists and as a member of the board and Treasurer of Wild Rice, one of Singapore’s leading theatre companies.

Nicola works for the UK’s Department of International Trade (DIT) in Singapore and has been with the organisation for over 3 years focusing on Energy, Environment and Aerospace sectors. Nicola has a background in business development in China as well as events management across South East Asia.

Nanda Mackay
BP Singapore Pte Limited
Nanda Mackay has been in Singapore with BP since 2010 and has held leadership roles in Downstream Lubricants managing the interface between the commercial and supply organisation across A&P and most recently heading up the back office activities for the Integrated Supply and Trading Business. Nanda has lived in the UK, South America and Middle East working across FMCG and Pharmaceutical MNCs and is passionate about D&I.

Allard Nooy is responsible for the InfraCo Asia’s strategic transformation process. Allard drove the development and implementation of its ‘multi-developers’ and co-investment programme.

He has over 25 years of strategic executive leadership experience in emerging markets and has successfully led and acquired infrastructure, energy and environmental companies throughout Asia.

His key focus has been on the development and implementation of growth strategies, the creation of new assets and the financing and execution of energy and infrastructure projects. The format of these projects varied widely and included PPP’s and BOOT structures in the water, waste water, solid waste management, waste-to-energy, power, and renewable energy sectors.

Mathias Steck
Mathias is Executive Vice President, Regional Manager Asia Pacific for ‘Renewables and Energy Advisory’ and member of the Executive Leadership Team of DNV GL Energy. Before the merger of DNV and Germanischer Lloyd in September 2013 Mathias was the Regional Manager of GL Garrad Hassan Asia Pacific. His position involves managing a team of over 150 Inspectors and Engineers specializing in Energy located in offices in Singapore, China, Thailand, India, Australia, Korea and Japan. Based in Singapore, Mathias has 13 years of experience in the renewable energy industry. During this time he has performed a wide range of tasks as an expert in charge of structural components of wind turbines including reviews, inspections, expert opinions, failure analysis, technical due diligence, guideline development and technical seminars.
