Diversity & Inclusion

The goal of the Chamber's Diversity and Inclusion Business Group is to provide a forum for members to promote D&I in the workplace by:


  • Raising awareness and sharing best practice around the various challenges and opportunities;
  • Building relationships with and providing inspiration, encouragement and support to members;
  • Engaging with and empowering local business leaders, employees and other communities;
  • influencing relevant stakeholders; and
  • Generally contributing towards enhancing the reputation of BritCham as an organisation committed to D&I.

Stephen Trevis
Barclays Bank PLC
Stephen Trevis is a Managing Director, and has headed up the Legal team in Singapore since February 2007. This team provides support across the region for the following: Markets businesses within the Investment Bank, Unregulated Debt and Leveraged Finance, Derivatives Master Documentation, Barclays Wealth, Barclays Corporate, Commercial Contracts, Company Secretarial and Sourcing.

Prior to joining Barclays, he worked at Standard Chartered from 2003-2007, Deutsche Bank from 1997 to 2003 and Clifford Chance in London, Tokyo and Hong Kong from 1992-1997. His background is primarily in structured products and loans, with a particular focus on emerging markets.

Simon Bennett
Swire Pacific Offshore Operations Pte Ltd
Simon started his career in shipping sea in 1974 as a Navigating Officer Cadet. After several voyages as ship’s Master, in 1991 he came ashore, working variously as HSE, Country, Marketing and Project Manager worldwide, before taking up his present role as GM for Sustainable Development 6 years ago. He has a BSc(Hons) in Environmental Science from UEA in Norwich and has been with the Swire group for over 30 years. He has lived in Singapore for a total of 16 yearsand has a passion for promoting all areas of diversity, inclusion, equality and fairness.

John Ridley
Tanglin Trust School Ltd
John Ridley is Director of Learning at Tanglin Trust School, Singapore. He has been at Tanglin for the past 16 years, originally joining as Head of Science in the Senior School. In his current role he is a member of the Management Team and has an interest in all aspects of school life, although his main focus is to ensure relevance, challenge and planned progression in the curriculum, across the age range from 3-18.

Amanda Teoh
Clifford Chance Pte Ltd
Amanda Teoh is a senior associate in the asset finance team in Singapore, specialising in aviation leasing and financing. Amanda is admitted as a solicitor in Australia and New Zealand. She is a member of the firm's CSR committee and has a strong interest in social justice, particularly access to education. Prior to joining Clifford Chance, Amanda worked as a solicitor at King & Wood Mallesons in Sydney and as tipstaff and researcher to the President of the NSW Court of Appeal.

Benedict Thambiah
British High Commission
Benedict is the Communications Manager with the British High Commission. He has a range of interests in community issues that include advocating for LGBT and Human Rights as well as serving on the management board of Action for AIDS as its Honorary Secretary. He has a keen interest in diversity and inclusion policy, believing strongly that employers must practice what they preach.

Joe Tofield
British Council
Joe is a young professional who has broad experience in retail, marketing, purchasing, advertising and business development. He currently works at the Professional Development Centre at the British Council supporting a range of clients with their learning and development needs in both the private and public sectors. He is also the diversity lead for the country heading up a team that organise events for staff as well as making sure that diversity is mainstreamed across the business. Joe has previously worked in Amsterdam and London.

Grahame Wright
Ernst & Young Solutions LLP
Grahame, a Partner of EY in Singapore, is the Regional Leader for the Tax - Human Capital practice in Asean. He is an Australian Chartered Accountant with more than 20 years experience in Expatriate Taxes, Immigration and Global Mobility Policy throughout the Asia Pacific area. In addition to client responsibilities, Grahame is the People Leader for the EY Singapore Tax practice, and leads the firm's Corporate Social Responsibility (Volunteerism) programme.
