To provide a forum for members of the Built Environment business group of the British Chamber in Singapore by:

 

  • Creating a platform for member to member communications;
  • Providing channels to enhance the reputation of the Built Environment Business Group of the British Chamber of Commerce, Singapore and the Chamber as whole
  • Building relationships with, providing inspiration, encouragement and support to members
  • To promote the Built Environment sector and opportunities for member companies through education, best practice & awareness of opportunities
  • Encourage diversity and gender equality within the business group

Marius Toime is a partner in Berwin Leighton Paisner's Singapore office. With over a decade of international experience in the Asia Pacific region, Marius has a deep and proven track record representing clients on cross-border projects especially in the infrastructure and natural resources sectors.

Marius is recognised as a leading individual in legal directories and is regularly engaged as an instructor on contractual matters throughout the region.

Brigitte's core responsibilities concentrate on leading and running the Chamber's Office in an efficient and effective manner to the benefit of the membership. Her primary focus is ensuring to meet members' needs and expectations in a dynamic and fast changing business environment.

Prior to joining the Chamber Brigitte worked at Imperial Tobacco - the world's fourth largest tobacco company - where she held several senior executive positions leading to extensive experience and knowledge about doing business in Asia.

Brigitte is a permanent resident in Singapore and has been living here for 12 years. Born and raised in Hamburg, work led her to live in Moscow before moving to Singapore. Based in Asia she became a keen yoga practitioner and keeps otherwise fit with running to compensate for her love of good food and wine.

Chris Archibold is an International Director at Jones Lang LaSalle and is Head of Commercial Leasing in Singapore. He is responsible for the delivery of transactional and advisory services to our clients. Chris is also a member of the Asia Pacific Markets Executive Committee.

Nicholas is the Regional Head of CRES for the Asia Pacific and Middle East region of Barclays, responsible for delivering the global CRES agenda to all Barclays entities across the region.

Nick joined Barclays in 2006, initially leading Major Project delivery for the Bank’s Wealth Management division, then assuming responsibility for the delivery of Capital Projects across EMEA.

He was appointed Global Head of Capital Projects in January 2014, and moved to Singapore in January 2015 to assume his current role. Before joining Barclays, Nick was based in the UK and Asia working for international consultancy and construction groups, as well as JPMorgan.

Marcus, a director at Cundall, leads the Singapore office. A Chartered Building Services Engineer, Marcus has worked with Cundall for ten years, first based in their Manchester office before opening their Singapore office in 2012. Marcus is tasked with expanding Cundall’s business across Asia working with their Shanghai and Hong Kong offices. He has extensive experience across a number of sectors including workplace, data centres and hotels priding himself on repeat business and referrals.

David is the Sales Director at Kaer Pte Ltd, Singapore’s leading energy efficiency business. Over a ten year history with Kaer, David has been responsible for expanding the business throughout the region and plays a key role in developing new products and services to deliver unique solutions to suit the various markets. As an advocate specialising in air-conditioning efficiency, David develops specialised programs to help buildings reduce their energy costs, whilst improving the conditions for the tenants.

Andy has worked in the construction industry for over 25 years, 4 years of which in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Originally of QS background, in 2005 '8' close colleagues that he has worked with for over 10 years embarked to do something different by forming '8build' in London, a company set up to offer a unique solution for procuring and delivering construction projects with the intent to make a difference to an industry that needs fresh ideas. Now set up in Singapore, they are here delivering commercial office fit out projects throughout a number of sectors.

Will Myles
RICS
 
Will Myles is a member of the Executive Team at RICS with responsibility for the Asia Pacific region, where his focus is on promoting international standards in the built environment and RICS’ global professional assurance framework.

His background is in advisory, consulting and contracting roles across EMEA and Asia Pacific in the construction and property sectors. Most recently Managing Director for Bahrain and Kuwait at WS Atkins plc, Will led the business through a period of significant change. Prior to this, Will established a management consulting arm for Atkins in the Middle East and led the international investment appraisal team based out of the UK.

Will holds an MBA from IMD International in Switzerland and an LLB from the University of London, having originally qualified as a Chartered Engineer in Hong Kong.
