Executive Director

The Executive Director of the British Chamber will be responsible for driving the strategic themes and in-year
implementation of the Chamber strategy. The individual will be responsible for leading a dynamic Chamber
team, responding to members and business community and executing the overarching objective of the


The individual will report to the President of British Chamber and work closely with the Board and
Executive Committee.


Tasks and Responsibilities:


  • Strong leadership with ability to collate feedback, actively listen, and implement into operation of the Chamber, including:
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with BritCham Members, Sponsors, Business Groups and the Board
    • Develop an appropriate advocacy approach in close collaboration with BritCham’s President and the External Affairs Committee
    • Demonstrate robust stakeholder engagement at C-Suite
    • Represent the Chamber at external forums, local and international Business Communities as the voice of the Chamber
    • Lead Executive team with clear objectives
    • Support members and deliver value to businesses


  • Execute Chamber strategy and operations with focus on:
    • Strengthen Membership and Sponsorship with focus on healthy cashflow
    • Design, coordinate and deliver quality Events
    • Effective communication of Chamber strategy with Board, ExCo and Members
    • Implement in-year plan of agreed strategy with Chamber Board
    • Design and develop new revenue streams from membership, sponsorship, events and advertising
    • Maintain strong relationships with the Chamber Board, sponsors, member companies, the British High Commission, the Department for International Trade, the Singapore Business Federation as well as other key Singapore stakeholders
    • Closely liaise with the ASEAN based British Chambers and maintain and develop productive exchange and collaboration for the benefit of BritCham members
    • Increasing the element of British and Singapore links and relations in the Chamber positioning
    • Support and develop BritCham’s Business Group Committee structure


  • Develop the Chamber Business Services strategy:
    • Work closely with the Department for International Trade (DIT) to sustain the development and delivery of business support advisory services to UK based SMEs
    • Manage and lead the Business Services team
    • Develop and execute a commercially sustainable Business Services offer

Membership Administrator


We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and skilled professional to join the Membership team in an administration role. 


Reports to:

Membership and Communications Manager, collaborating closely with the Membership Manager. The role also requires regular liaison with Admin, Accounts and the Events team


Tasks and Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for the management and administration of the membership database
    • Day to day administration of new and renewing members
    • Produce and send new member and renewal packs, including membership cards
  • Management of membership payments and renewals
    • Prepare and send out invoices
    • Liaise with accounts to monitor outstanding renewal payments
  • Handling general membership enquiries
  • Maintenance of member records and correspondence
    • Maintain monthly records for membership database
    • Update member correspondence as required
  • Reporting
    • Produce monthly reports
  • Day to day management of third party providers
  • Assist with Member events
    • Organisation of the monthly New Member Briefing presentation
    • Attendance at flagship Chamber events
  • Membership Committee
    • Attending and taking minutes for the monthly Membership Committee meeting


Key Performance Indicators:


  • Accuracy of member database
  • Rate of renewal payments
  • Rapport and relationship with Chamber members and suppliers


Ideal Candidate Requirements:


  • 1-2 years’ experience in a similar customer-facing role
  • Ideally experience of a member based organisation or similar
  • Business Studies degree or related qualifications of advantage
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in the English language, both spoken and written
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience in database analysis
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Fast learner and adaptable to a SME environment
  • Excellent team player


Benefits package includes:


  • Key Working hours: 08.30 – 17.30, Monday to Friday
  • Expectation of attending occasional morning and/or evening Chamber events
  • Salary + CPF, payable 13 times a year
  • Discretionary annual bonus
  • 15 days paid annual leave plus statutory leave allowances

Events Intern


We are looking for an enthusiastic and adventurous individual to join us as an Events Intern.


The position reports directly to the Events Senior Manager and Events Manager. The role also demands close collaboration with the Events team, as well as regular liaison with Admin, Accounts and the Communications team.


Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. Scope of work and deliverables will be concentrating on supporting the Events Team in the following areas:
  • Compiling guest lists for upcoming events
  • Managing event collaterals including name badges
  • Support with registration at the events
2. Supporting events will include early mornings or evenings which will enhance overview and
insights into the Chamber’s offer to members and clients.


Ideal Candidate Requirements:


  • Excellent excel and communication skills
  • Must be flexible and able to work within a small team environment
  • Available to start immediately
  • Fluent in the English language, both spoken and written
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and adaptable to new systems
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Fast learner and adaptable to a SME environment
  • Excellent team player
  • Candidates must be available to attend Chamber events outside working hours, for example early mornings or early evenings as per the events calendar
